Previously called the Higher Education Collaboration Fund, the Sustainable Construction iNet provides grant support for East Midlands’ innovative and business-driven research and development (R&D) projects though Collaborative Research and Development.
Collaborative Research and Development grants are awarded to collaborative partnerships drawn from business, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and other research organisations for R&D of sustainable construction sector enabling technologies with real commercial potential.
Through Collaborative Research and Development, the iNet aims to facilitate and expedite knowledge exchange between organisations at the leading edge of technological advances to benefit the region’s economy. Projects awarded grants must:
•Involve two or more East Midlands’ universities
•Leverage additional funding of three times the value of grant support from other public sector sources
•Also be part-funded by the collaborating organisations
•Demonstrate economic benefits for the region.
Apply for Collaborative Research and Development
The Sustainable Construction iNet has allocated £250,000 to fund qualifying projects through Collaborative Research and Development in 2010. Projects across three themes will be awarded grant support
