According to the latest survey done by CIPS – the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply the UK service sector is now expanding.
The survey shows that the increase is growing at the fastest rate for two years, rising to 55.3 in September from 54.1 in August.
It is the fifth month in succession that the service sector has shown growth. This shows a positive movement in the recession, with any figure above 50 indicating an expansion.
Government estimates have stated that the economy will be pulling out of the recession in the second half of this year, in a steady motion.
With the service sector experiencing a particularly high growth last month, this prediction seems to be on target.
