Today LinkedIn has announced yet another change to its platform, this time its the Company Page section that is having a upgrade.
Company Pages have been a welcome addition to LinkedIn, making it a custom area for companies to be able to promote business news and updates which are visible to those that ‘opt-in’.
The Company Page updates have been an essential part of firms commercial strategy so far, and despite LinkedIn making several upgrades and changes over the past few years, the company page has avoided all matter of changes… until now.
The news that the ‘Products & services’ section of the Company Page are disappearing is disappointing to say the least for some firms, who have been able to use this to generate peer marketing through clients posting trusted recommendations alongside their product and service listings.
Changes will come into effect on the 14th April 2014. LinkedIn is showing a notification on the company pages which will be visible to all accounts over the next few weeks. This memo also advises how you can ‘copy’ the recommendations over to private profiles, so not to lose them totally.
