Businesses are being asked by Government how they want to redress the balance between the citizen and the state as part of a public consultation launched by the Deputy Prime Minister.
Your Freedom is an opportunity for anyone to suggest ideas on restoring liberties that have been lost, repealing unnecessary laws and removing excessive regulation on businesses and the Third Sector.
Questions to answer
Your Freedom asks the public to consider three questions:
1 – Cutting business and Third Sector regulations: which regulations do you think should be removed or changed to make running your business or organisation as simple as possible?
2 – Restoring civil liberties: which current laws would you like to remove or change because they restrict your civil liberties?
3 – Repealing unnecessary laws: which offences do you think we should remove or change and why?
What happens to your ideas?
Once ideas have been submitted, users of the site will be able to comment and rate their favourite ideas. Relevant departments will respond to the most popular workable ideas, and the Government will give regular progress updates.
The aim is that the Government will roll back the unnecessary regulations that are strongly disliked. The views expressed on Your Freedom will be taken into account as part of the Freedom Bill in the autumn.
